Sprinkler
Fire sprinklers, What is it?
A fire-sprinkler system is a water based fixed fire-extinguishing system, it can be installed in residential areas, shops, warehouses and hospitals to name a few.
It works by the mechanical release of the nozzle. It may be a metal pin that melts or a glass hulb that shatters the heat generated from the fire. When the glass breaks, it release a plug which keep the water in place, and thus makes the water spread in a mist over the fire to extinguish or control it until the fire department arrives.
A properly designed fire-sprinkler system will extinguish or control about 96% of all fires. This helps saving lives and values.
Here is an example of the difference of an unsprinkled room and a sprinkled room.
